CT Production win 6 figure power generation control unit contract
12 June 2009
EMS provider CT Production of Dorset has won a six-figure contract for turnkey manufacture of an industrial control unit for use in power generation.
The unit consists of four PCBs assembled in a rack-mount case and requires procurement of all parts as well as SMT and conventional PCB assembly, general assembly, functional testing and safety testing. This is not just good news for CT Production, but also for its suppliers in the UK who will be required to provide the many components and fabricated items used in the rack.
The product had previously been manufactured offshore in the USA due to the dollar exchange rate against a strong pound. The recently lost advantage of the exchange rate, plus difficulties in obtaining on-time delivery from the overseas supplier led the client to move the contract to the UK and place it with CT Production as a competitive and trusted, reliable source.
Recognised for providing quality and on-time delivery, CT Production is growing, even in these difficult times. As a result CT is increasing its capacity by investing in additional new equipment including a Europlacer Xpress rated at 28000 components per hour.
