Lightweight GRP trunking solutions for heavyweight installations
The new ''GRP Cable Management Systems'' brochure from Marshall-Tufflex is geared towards electrical contractors and specifiers working in challenging and aggressive environments including rail, road and sea projects.
Marshall-Tufflexs'' GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester) trunking systems possess a number of important properties, including operation in temperatures from –80°C to 130°C, high strength yet light weight and a high level of corrosion resistance. GRP is a zero halogen product and as strong as aluminium or steel but up to 40% lighter in weight. The lower weight factor assists greatly in ease of handling and the assembly of structures and is therefore a benefit in the area of health and safety.
GRP Cable Management Systems is a fully illustrated technical reference guide containing full details of applications. The brochure also details relevant technical standards, approvals and carries a large number of capacity and load illustrations and product diagrams.
The Marshall-Tufflex GRP range includes trays, ladders, ground ducts, accessories, fixings, fittings and supports as well as cable troughing. Each benefits from interlocking and adjustable couplings for fast, on-site assembly. Earth bonding is not a requirement, no de-burring or specialist tools are necessary and limited fasteners are required compared to other systems.
GRP is a maintenance-free and corrosion resistant product. It will not deteriorate when in contact with salt spray, chemicals, exhaust gases or brake dust. The systems are low smoke classified and have a slow rate of heat transfer with low conductivity and self-extinguishing properties. They are also resistant to electromagnetic pulses and provide cost effective solutions where stability to UV and extreme temperatures in products with a long life span is essential.
