Axair Partner with Buy Social Enterprise MSS-CKD
18 May 2021
Axair are extremely proud to join forces with buy social enterprise MSS-CKD.
Axair are now working closely with the organisation and its associated buy social partners to challenge everyone to think about where we buy goods and services from, and the social impact of our purchasing decisions. By partnering with a buy social procurement scheme, we can help local businesses to utilise their social budgets coupled with the peace of mind of helping a worthwhile cause by allowing social enterprises to reinvest profits to address the most pressing issues.
What is A Buy Social Procurement Scheme?
Buy social is the integration of social benefits into procurement contracts and purchasing decisions. It is an approach that maximises the benefits of procurement in terms of personal wellbeing, social cohesion and inclusion, equal opportunities and sustainable development. It helps to articulate the social impact of funds that may have been secured from third sector organisation such as The Big Lottery or other grant giving bodies.
What are the Benefits of Buying Socially?
The key benefits of buying socially through our partnership are preferential social purchase price coupled with a positive impact on the world we live in, in the Axair-MSSCKD partnership, a percentage of profits is allocated to vulnerable people with chronic kidney disease, ultimately creating a positive social impact. It also helps to demonstrate that your business is supporting local authorities who are adhering to the 2012 Social Value Act.
What is the 2012 Social Value Act?
The 2012 Social Value Act requires public bodies in England, and in some parts of Wales, to consider choosing providers based on the social value created in an area and not base their purchasing decision on cost alone. The legislation asks that public bodies consider how the services and products they commission and procure, might improve the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of an area.
Through our group collaboration between MSS-CKD, the buy social procurement scheme can be utilised by all businesses through their Local Authority, this gives the perfect opportunity for businesses to invest socially into effective clean air solutions in 2021 and beyond.
