Industrial fans which save circa 25% in electricity costs per annum
16 May 2023
The problem
This multinational glass manufacturing company based in Romania had their original fans running at a speed of 2980 RPM, causing problems with bearing failure and vibration. When we attended site, we carried out performance tests and found that the fans performed to the anticipated curve supplied but were operating close to the unstable point on the fan curve.
Our solution
We designed and manufactured 4 new fan units, ensuring the working point on the curve was in a more stable position to give a more efficient result. Our fans were working at a speed of 1450 RPM – much safer than the original 2980 RPM fan. This speed would also extend the working life of the unit greatly.
The result
The customer has since reported:
• Savings of circa 25% in electricity cost per annum due to the efficiency gain
• Cost of fans predicted to be amortized within 2 years
• They will be ordering the same fans from us for another plant
