David Bailey provides new Technology College furniture

David Bailey Furniture Systems Ltd was chosen to supply and install fitted furniture to the value of £180,000 from its Education range, for a refurbishment project at Clapton Girls Technology College.
The project, managed by contractors Mansell Construction Services Ltd, included the installation of college and technological furniture in three separate phases. Phase one and two saw the refurbishment of the colleges Pankhurst and Rosa Park technology buildings. The final phase focuses on the refurbishment of the Marie Curie building and is due for completion in February 2010.Areas of the school already to benefit from David Baileys' college refurbishment project include the learning resources centre, the reprographics studio, the media suite, the interview room and the staff kitchens.
Technology furniture needs to be sturdy and hard-wearing to withstand intrusive use. Solid laminate Trespa worktops from David Bailey’s Education range were installed in the reprographics studio to provide resistance against heat and chemical substances and help promote a safe working environment. In the staff kitchens, stainless steel worktops were used to compliment the fitted kitchen storage units, achieving a sleek and stylish finish.
