Demco shelves new Shepherds Bush Library
30 December 2009
Demco was delighted to provide the shelving for the exciting £2 million Shepherds Bush Library located at Westfield, London.
Fitted out with the most innovative technology and services available the new library is just 200 yards from the old Shepherds Bush Library, and is located on one of the main entrances to the new Westfield Shopping Centre. The shelving has been described as modern, urbane, sophisticated and contemporary and it’s easy to see how well the design blends traditional library shelving and retail display. The trail blazing library has self-service pods and over 10,000 brand new fiction and non-fiction books; with over 1000 new DVDs, 600 CDs and 25 computers for public use.
Supported by a very customer focused library staff there will be events and activities to position the new facility at the cutting edge of library services. The library will also host an employment service so that residents can access job vacancies throughout the mall as they arise.
The building was officially opened by Jeremy Paxman, Benjamin Chang and the Mayor of H&F on Monday 14 September 2009.
