Kitchen Automation - the future of foodservice
07 January 2010
Call Systems Technology will be showing their latest ConnectSmart® hospitality automation systems & hardware at Hostec 2010.
A range of innovative technology solutions from Call-Systems Technology (CST) will be on show at Hostec 2010, Hotelympia. Highlights include the UKs' most advanced hospitality automation system, ConnectSmart, which is demonstrated with the latest versions of its kitchen-proof hardware and Genesis, the software package providing a complete communications solution integrating phones, mobiles, pagers and email.ConnectSmart: sophisticated technology at the heart of the kitchen
Restaurant and kitchen automation systems are fast becoming essential for busy, profitable catering sites. The ConnectSmart Hospitality Automation solution, developed in the USA by QSR Automations®, uses sophisticated software that brings new levels of efficiency, food quality and customer service, connecting front-of-house to back-of-house seamlessly.
Busy commercial kitchens are no environment for standard computer hardware and screens – which is why the QSR system features the market's most robust hardware, including kitchen-safe touchscreens and keyboards, the latest versions of which are shown at Hostec. Panels are sealed against moisture, while keypads are tough enough to cope with up to 30 million presses. Because of its hardwearing design, the equipment can be sited where it is needed most, right in the heart of the kitchen.
At the core of the ConnectSmart system is ConnectSmart Kitchen (CSK), a graphical display system that tells chefs which order they need to prepare next. Using vivid, easy-to-understand graphical displays and information from waiting staff, it automatically assigns meal make-up tasks to individual chef workstations, so that all the food for a table's order is ready at the same time. The system speeds up ordering, enhances food quality, cuts food waste, reduces working stress and streamlines food preparation.
The exciting ConnectSmart system will be demonstrated throughout Hostec, on stand H1335.
Smart communications = protection AND profits
CSTs' Genesis is an intelligent software package that integrates all a site's communications and ensures staff know what they need to know - instantly. Designed for institutions, restaurants and hotels, it provides a vital link between reception, management, staff, back office and security, so that everyone can be contacted quickly and efficiently.
In addition, Genesis links to fire alarms and security doors, taking over a wide range of facilities' management tasks. These can range from sending out scheduled messages to maintenance staff, reminding them about diarised tasks, to monitoring the kitchen's refrigeration and warning appropriate personnel if temperatures fluctuate out of the norm.
Genesis works with all communications equipment, including pagers, DECT units (cordless digital phones), email, two-way radios, P2T (push to talk) and even mobile phones.
CST will also demonstrate its award-winning ‘Call’ range of pager systems. Typical of the range is ServiceCall, where clients press a call button for instant service. With bespoke button designs, CST can adapt the functionality of the ServiceCall system for the site's customer service requirements and match it to the interior design. The call button unit can have several functions, for example to call hospitality, service or audiovisual support. The button message will display the service required, with the room location, on a central display or direct to pagers or DECT phones carried by staff.
Other Call products include ButlerCall, EasyCall, WaiterCall and CustomerCall. All Call products are simple, efficient, economical and, being wireless, are easy to install, have no running costs and can improve virtually every aspect of a hospitality business, from food quality to profitability.
