Peter Beardsley opens 7-a-side pitch at St. Peters' C of E Primary School

The interactive sports surface, designed specifically for Primary schools, will be used as the schools footbal pitch among other activities.
Pupils worked with the school council to help plan the layout of the turf and choose the colours. Paul Rickeard, Headteacher at St. Peters' C of E Primary School, said:"It's an honour to have Peter Beardsley come to our school and open our fantastic new sports facility. Because we are fenced in by a number of different buildings, in the past it has been difficult for us to create a suitable outdoor sports area for our pupils. Parents have all been desperate for a place where their children can play and now they have it. Thanks to the synthetic turf, we have been able to construct an area that incorporates a running track and a tennis court, that does the job perfectly. Our new first-rate facility is certainly going to help our pupils stay fit and healthy, whilst also having fun."
