LFV Technology on CNC Machines Aids Company Growth
12 September 2024
M&M Turned Parts have invested in a range of Citizen Sliding Head Machines featuring LFV Technology (Low-Frequency-Vibration) in order to maximise unmanned production when machining tough materials.
Over the last 5 years M&M Turned Parts have focused on an investment program of upgrading to the latest technology CNC Machinery. Primarily, the company has focused on purchasing CNC Sliding Head CNC Lathes from Citizen Machinery UK in order to aid the production of precision turned parts in medium volume. One of the main focusses was to purchase machinery which would improve efficiency by overcoming hurdles when machining difficult materials such as stainless steels and engineering plastics. Some of these materials are not free-machining and can be problematic when performing machining operations such as turning and drilling due to poor chipping of the swarf. Low Frequency Vibration A game changer in the precision machining industry has been the development of LFV technology (Low Frequency Vibration).
For automatic machining shops such as M&M who manufacture precision turned parts 24/7 this has been a game changer. This technology is now fitted as standard on Citizen’s sliding head machines and works by using a special macro which chips the swarf intermittently.
Previously it was difficult to run jobs out of materials such as 304 stainless steel and 6082 aluminium unmanned as the swarf produced caused issues. With the LFV we are now able to maximise production through the night and be confident that quality parts have been produced during this period. Capabilities With the investment in the latest technology CNC machinery M&M are able to produce machined components from a wide variety of materials including brass, steel, stainless steel, aluminium and engineering plastics.
Our machining capacity is ideally suited to batch sizes of 200-0ff to the many thousands. We have a good range of machinery catering for components from 3mm diameter up to 65mm in diameter. We feel well positioned to cater for any CNC Machining requirements with the addition of our XYZ Machining Centre.
