FlexiDry floor screeds help green London car showroom

FlexiDry fast drying floor screed is playing its part in helping a new Honda car showroom achieve the highest environmental standards in its sector.
The building, which is expected to achieve a “very good” or “excellent” rating under the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), features FlexiDry F2 – 14 day dry time formulation covering an underfloor heating system. Situated on Edgware Road, Colindale in north London, the showroom will be completed later in 2010. In addition to underfloor heating with FlexiDry, the architects have used a range of measures to improve the building's environmental performance, including ground source heat pumps, rainwater harvesting and waste water recycling. The new double height Colindale showroom will provide almost 700 sq metres of space for displaying cars. An existing warehouse and workshop buildings on the site have been refurbished to provide vehicle workshop, office and ancillary areas. Externally, ‘green’ planted screens between the parking areas provide an attractive backdrop to the vehicles.
