Found in thousands of schools but is window film being used to maximum effect? Part 3.
08 January 2008
This results in an environment more conducive to learning and reduces energy burned by supplementary lighting and cooling devices. It is window film’s ability to reduce carbon footprint which has resulted in it being recognised by the Clinton Foundation.
Left: Window film reduces the transmitted heat into a building
Here is a thought for those planning to introduce air-conditioning. It provides such a feel-good fresh-air factor that we tend to overlook that it is powered by fossil fuels, is energy inefficient and adds dramatically to an organisation’s carbon footprint.
Not good now you understand that window film could prevent most of the heat (which air conditioning cools) from entering the building to begin with.
Durable publishes a free booklet on the safety regulations surrounding schools and regularly hold seminars on the role of window film in the public sector. For details email peter@durable.co.uk or call 0870 240 2480.
