Cylindrica Bassa’ bottle from Johnsen & Jorgensen

‘Cylindrica Bassa’ bottle design from Johnsen & Jorgensen provides a creative and commercial solution
The consultancy skills of Johnsen & Jorgensen (J & J) have proved invaluable yet again when the company re-designed the bottle for a successful range of health food oils. As a customer-focused container packaging specialist, J & J were approached by the brand owner of the health food oils range who wanted a new, shorter bottle shape with the same volume as its predecessor that would also fit on the eye-level shelves of a major supermarket chain.
Hitherto, the products had been top-shelf items which placed no constraints on bottle height. J & J designed the ‘Cylindrica Bassa’ 250ml bottle in dark green glass which has the same generic appearance of other sizes in the branded range. Its squat, but elegant, shape is now part of J & J’s ‘Cylindrica’ range of bottles which the company can supply in dark green, light green or flint glass colours.
Mike Bogod, Speciality Division Sales Manager at J & J, who was involved with the re-design project from the outset is delighted with the feedback he’s had from both the brand owner and the general public: “The general feeling is that we’ve created a winner in ‘Cylindrica Bassa’,” says Mike. “Commercially, the new bottle shape fits perfectly on the supermarket’s best-selling shelves to give a further boost to an already successful product. Also, the new shape has cleverly retained the oils’ brand identity in what everyone agrees is an elegant, easy-on-the-eye design.”
