David Bailey to aid wounded troops in Afghanistan
23 June 2011
David Bailey Furniture Systems’ reputation for competitively priced, high quality fitted hopsital furniture has won them a contract to send furniture to Afghanistan to assist wounded troops.
Still in the early stages of construction, the 8 metre x 1 metre nurses station will be installed into a 40-bed hospital ward at Camp Bastian, part of a large military hospital in Southern Afghanistan that treats soldiers injured on the battlefield. The nurses station is part of the new extension of the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) medical treatment facility at Camp Bastian.David Bailey was chosen by G3 Systems Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of IAP Worldwide Services, Inc. that designs, delivers, operates and maintains equipment and facilities on a global basis, after they were recommended for the job by subcontract designer Such, Salinger and Peters.
G3 Systems’ Business Development Manager, Paul Holt, said: “We designed, delivered and built the original UK military hospital at Camp Bastian and recently won a contract to extend its facilities. This work has focused on developing and supporting primary healthcare and pathology lab facilities. David Bailey was chosen to provide specific items of fitted hospital furniture as they offered the best combination of quality and price.”
Trevor Gillman, Managing Director of David Bailey Furniture Systems, said: “This overseas furniture installation project is very important to us, as the hospital furniture we’re supplying is really going to make a difference to the quality of care provided to wounded soldiers in Afghanistan.”
The Camp Bastian medical treatment facility extension and upgrade of its Primary Healthcare Facilities is one of a series of construction contracts G3 Systems has secured recently which build on its presence in Afghanistan where it now supports UK, NATO and US operations.
