New site provides an opportunity to improve the compressed air system

An automotive production machine manufacturer needed to expand and moved into a bigger production facility to help grow the business.
They were having problems with pressure drop and lack of flexibility at their old facility, and they were keen to resolve all these issues at the new site. The nature of their work requires a flexible work space with everything to be installed at 2.5 metre FFL. A lightweight system was necessary to allow hanging from the new busbars. Good flow and pressure were a requirement at all points throughout the factory.
Aluminium extruded pipe work was installed throughout, giving high flow and low pressure drops to point of use. This also allowed them the flexibility to install multiple points at high level, and gave them the option to add further drops with minimum downtime or disruption when they had actually moved in.
The Approved Airnet Installer, Paul Hennan of H&M Compressors and Pumps was keen to design a better system layout and enjoyed the flexibility of being able to install the ring main first and then allow the customer to decide exactly where to put the quoted drops.
Sims Engineering is now enjoying the benefits of investing in an energy saving pipe work system that was able to be installed in a much shorter time than traditional Galvanised systems.
