TFC glues together innovation, progression and industry
23 December 2011
Behind every engineering innovation is ingenuity, intelligence, drive, and the sort of dynamic thinking which breaks with the conventional. To develop new and exciting products, or modify existing products to allow them to make the leap that means existing technology advances with new technology, ideas and components must both be flexible and reliable.
No matter what the developments are there is always a core of base components which have been used in industry, and in many cases, for decades. The reliance on these products has not decreased as technology has advanced. The development, manufacture, and supply of these components to industry have been an equally important factor in the progression of engineering, technology, and industry. Springs, rings, circlips and fixings and fasteners are the glue which brings everything together. For over 40 years one company in the south east of England, nestled in the heart of Sussex, have been at the forefront of providing complete fixing and fastening solutions to industry in the UK and all over the world.
Brian Goode, technical director at TFC Europe Ltd, knows the importance of consistency in terms of supply, manufacturing and on-going development of these products to industry. “Fixings and fasteners are not the most glamorous aspect of engineering, but the tremendous importance of many of these widgets cannot be understated.”
Knowing how these fixings can be incorporated within industry is as important as an understanding of the strengths and limitations of a Wave Spring, Circlip or Laminar ring. It is this technical expertise which companies like TFC bring to the table with over four decades of practical experience and knowledge. Greg Templeman, TFC’s Business Manager acknowledged. “Often businesses come to us looking for a solution and with our vast combined knowledge and resource of history we are able to provide solutions to industry.”
TFC now have offices in Europe and many other key areas of the world to ensure that its logistic expertise matches its technical, sourcing and distribution chain. In the UK, TFC has expanded its own operations to include some strategically placed depots which allow the company to provide its products to industry quickly, efficiently and within budget.
Industries such as oil and gas exploration, automotive, electronics, and manufacturing depend on a continual supply of many of these small components which are rarely given the time of day, let alone a passing thought by the general public. Yet their value to the development of the world we live in today is highly significant.
