Reliable thin sheet metal joints
The reliable assembly of thin sheets with pilot holes has always presented a problem for removable joints. For sheets thicker than 1 mm it used to be possible to apply common sheet metal screws but an increasing reduction of sheet thickness, due to the cost saving potentials, prevents this today. EJOT now developed a secure solution for the process reliable assembly of pre-punched sheet metal joints with less 1,5 mm thickness, the self-tapping EJOT SHEETtracs® screw. This fastening element also supports the implementation of individual light weight desing strategies. For a example a reduction of the sheet thickness of casing walls of "white goods" became possible with the SHEETtracs® - an important factor for the weight and also cost optimisation of this product category.

"Specialist" for light metal
EJOT ALtracs® Plus screws are thread-forming fasteners developed for maximum strength values in light alloy assemblies and other non-ferrous metals such as zinc, copper or brass. The ALtracs® Plus is designed for direct assembly into cast holes. Compared to metric screws significant cost savings can be realised because the number of work steps is reduced (e.g. thread cutting). ALtracs® Plus is the improved version of the ALtracs® screw and it achieves strength values which are comparable to metric screw joints of the strength category 10.9.
![FDS® Castings](/storage/images/products/1550-fdsreg-castings.jpg)
FDS® Castings

- No tolerance problems with clearance or threaded holes
- No material waste and no swarf
- Use with various sheet surfaces
- High loosening torque and vibration resistance, no need for additional safety elements
- Easy removal and recycling
- Repeat assemblies also possible with metric screws
High strength sheet metal joints
Especially in the fast automotive industry, where the used components have to withstand high stress, the demands on fastening technology are high. For example in the car body construction the composite design is on the increase where different materials have to be fastened securely and lastingly. In addition to one-sided accessibility, the removability of the fastener is also very important, especially with regard to recyclability. These complex conditions are a case for the use of the EJOT FDS® screw, which fastens thin sheet metals made of steel and aluminium without the need for a pilot hole and in excellent quality. Work steps such as pre-drilling or pre-punching are no longer necessary. Due to the increased thread engagement in the formed draught a high-strength screw joint is created - without the undesired metal chipping. The screw joint is able to transfer high pull-out as well as shearing forces.
![Spiralform® Castings](/storage/images/products/1552-spiralformreg-castings.jpg)
Spiralform® Castings
- Low thread forming torques due to special thread geometry with self-tapping point
- The formed thread corresponds to the metric ISO thread DIN 13
- High strength values and maximum thread engagement due to circular thread cross section
Reliable steel joints
EJOT Spiralform® screws are special fasteners for reliable and trouble-free metal joints, especially in steel and and stainless steel. Thread-forming and fastening are only one step with this screw. An accurate, tight fitting thread with high strength properties is always formed. This guarantees optimal resistance against loosening under dynamic stress.
![DELTAsert® Industrial Fasteners](/storage/images/products/1555-deltasertreg-industrial-fasteners.jpg)

Alternative insert solution
Today the demanded cost and weight reductions for most designs often require alternative methods to the common fastening solutions. For example inserts are still used for many applications, which indirectly fasten components with a costly post-moulded insert and a metric screw. An alternative to this laborious method is the new aluminium EJOT DELTAsert® which permits a reliable self-tapping assembly into highly loaded thermoplastic components. Previously, this was only possible with pre or post moulded inserts.

"Specialist" for thermosets
Alternative materials, that were not focused on by the fastening technology a few years ago, are now commonplace in various industrial applications. Especially the thermosets often replace other materials, in the automotive industry oftentimes due to weight savings of components. The reliable and durable connection of these highly loaded components makes high demands on the used fastening elements. EJOT meets these demands with the inovative DELTA PT® DS, based on the proven DELTA PT® screw, which is qualified for the most difficult self-tapping applications into thermosets due to its special thread layout.
