Taking giant steps with Miele tailor-made contract cleaning
02 February 2009
To ensure high standards of hygiene in contract cleaning, mops and cloths must be cleaned regularly after use.
Whether at a school, kindergarten, office or hygienically sensitive areas such as hospitals and care homes, on-premise laundry facilities depend on the reliable reprocessing and disinfection of such materials.
The highly efficient PW 5064 is the latest addition to Miele Professional’s tried-and-tested Little Giants range. With a maximum load size of 6.5 kg, this machine has specialised programmes for washing all manner of textiles from mopheads, cloths, and curtains to towels and bedding. It is suitable for small buildings as well as multiple installations at larger contract cleaning sites.
The mop head programme can accommodate the needs of mop heads made from different materials, whether cotton or microfibre, at the touch of a button. The programme also includes a pre-drainage cycle, which has been designed to improve cleaning performance. Before the wash cycle starts, the mop heads are spun to remove excess moisture, detergent and soil.
The cleaning and disinfection of cleaning pads, cloths or uniforms is simple and convenient. Alongside the specialised programmes, the PW 5064 boasts the standard cleaning programmes for cottons, intensive and minimum iron.
A contract cleaner’s daily work requires dependable and easy to operate machines which support work processes and cut down on labour costs. Miele’s user-friendly Novotronic controls feature single-knob controls which are simple and intuitive to use. Programme details such as duration and spin speed as wells as the name of the programme selected are shown on the clear LCD display.
Even blocked drains can be prevented with this ‘must-have’ little machine. It is equipped with a newly developed drain valve which prevents clogging and deposits, especially after heavy soiling.
Programmes for thermal and chemical-thermal disinfection are also available on the PW 5064. Thermal disinfection takes place at 90°C with a 10-minute holding time while chemical-thermal disinfection, using a disinfectant utilises a temperature of 60°C for 15 minutes.
The PW 5064 can be combined with an external liquid detergent dispensing system for greater convenience. This feature enables liquid detergents to be dispensed both safely and automatically to ensure excellent cleaning and disinfection results.
The machine can also carry out ‘container empty’ signals from the liquid dispenser containers. This ensures that no wash is performed without the requisite amount of detergent or disinfectant being allocated.
All Miele laundry machines designed for use by contract cleaners are extremely economic to run and are built to last at least 10,000 programme cycles.
