Upcycle your existing platform lift
03 November 2020
You can now choose whether to replace or upgrade the appearance and functionality of an existing platform lift by using a new service provided by the Platform Lift Company.
The Platform Lift Company has a new service which is designed to save customers money and provide a sustainable solution without having to replace the whole lift. Using their in-house engineering expertise and parts department, the company has the capabilities to modernise the appearance, update safety features and improve energy efficiency of a platform lift.
As part of the overhaul worn parts and damaged panels will be replaced, safety features are checked and upgrades such as LED lights and fully automatic openers/closers can be installed if required. Customers can also opt to enhance its cleaning procedures by having an air purifier retrofitted to disinfect the air inside the lift and to help obliterate viruses and bacteria.
By refurbishing a platform lift customers will have the opportunity to change the colour of panels and doors or replace them with glazed versions to create a fresh new look. Existing flooring can also be swapped for anti-slip flooring available in a variety of materials.
Sean O’Sullivan, Managing Director of the Platform Lift Company believes that this new offering will appeal to customers looking for cost effective ways to enhance their disability access.
"More and more customers are asking us to upgrade older styles of lifts because we service and provide parts for some of the main manufacturers of platform lifts including Motala. We already have the expertise and resources in-house so the business can easily accommodate this new service offering.”
