Mr. Fill Cleans the Streets in the Latest Call of Duty Title
24 May 2023
Sometimes you find things in the most unexpected ways…
Over the weekend, our new Marketing Executive, Jake, enjoyed some downtime on game developer Infinity Ward’s latest title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022).That’s when he saw it: the Mr. Fill Solar Compacting Bin.
The map on which Jake stumbled upon the bin was the Himmelmatt Expo – situated in the Swiss Alps. There was no certainty, but it looked all too familiar and almost too good to be true. It had to be the Mr. Fill bin.
Wybone has been the UK’s first sole distributor of Mr. Fill over the past three years, a testimony to our long-standing, successful partnership with the Netherlands-based company. With innovative and smart features that include an automatic lock, solar technology to enhance battery life and a fill-level tracking system, you can understand the excitement around potentially discovering such an ambitious bin on an iconic title like Call of Duty.
As soon as Jake returned to the office, an email was sent straight to Jari Eits, the Sales & Marketing guru at Mr. Fill. He was able to confirm that the virtual product was in fact the same unit.
The best part?
Jari said that they’re not only present on the map Jake found them on, but also on another map, Breenbergh Hotel, based in Downtown Amsterdam. And with Mr. Fill being a Netherlands-based company, it made perfect sense.
According to Game Revolution, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) amassed an estimated 3 – 10 million players on its release. This means that Mr. Fill has been exposed to more people than we can anticipate!
Whether or not this will impact the sales for the smart unit, one thing’s for sure: Mr. Fill has clearly become a central part of public spaces throughout The Netherlands, and we couldn’t be happier to continue our partnership with them.
