This Litter Bin is a Game Changer for the Environment.
22 June 2023
When your hands are full (literally), they’re there when you need them the most.
But let’s be honest…Many of us take them as they are: litter bins. I doubt that anything beyond that enters your mind. But what if I told you that air pollution is the most disastrous threat to our planet?
Ah, now I’ve got your attention. But I know what you’re thinking…
What has this got to do with bins?
At Wybone, we manufacture a range of eco-friendly bins that the environment is thanking us for.
Read on to find out how.
So, what is it?
We’re talking about our MLB Eco Steel Litter Bin Range.
If you’re a previous customer of Wybone, chances are you’ll have heard of our Standard MLB Range. After all, we’ve been manufacturing these units for many years, and they’re up there as one of our most popular products.
But at Wybone, we’re big on doing what we can to reduce our impact on the environment. And we knew that you, our customers, felt the same.
So, in 2016, we came together as a team and took a good look at our current product range to see what we could do differently.
We wanted to focus on a product that was in high demand. A product that, if we chose to ecologically refine it, could make a real difference.
That’s when we looked at our Standard MLB Steel Litter Bins.
How our MLB Eco Steel Litter Bin Range is better for the environment
Quicker to manufacture
Our MLB Eco’s are smaller in size. This means we can fit more in our powder-coating, curing ovens, speeding up the manufacturing process. These ovens are absolutely essential to provide a high-quality finish on an array of products.
Its reduced weight and size allows us to classify these bins as a line product, meaning we can manufacture our Eco bins in two separate departments for better efficiency.
Most importantly, this also means that less oven power is used. We therefore save a lot on energy, reducing our impact on the environment.
100% recyclable
Although our MLB Eco Steel Litter Bins are made with strong durability in mind, sometimes a little bit of damage is unavoidable.
We’ve made sure that, if these bins collect any aesthetic damage, they can be easily refurbished to look brand new. And if this bin happens to get damaged beyond repair, it can be collected and recycled.
Here are 7 benefits of recycling.
Say goodbye to welding
We’ve eliminated welding from the manufacturing process for these steel litter bins.
Why?
Welding can emit noxious fumes. And although it may not directly impact the wider environment beyond our factory, it still isn’t ecologically friendly for our staff. We significantly reduce any health problems arising from the use of welding.
We reduce the amount of paint used
High levels of paint should be avoided.
Like welding, too much exposure to paint can cause health problems like skin allergies, nausea and facial irritation.
Because our MLB Eco Steel Litter Bins are smaller in size, less paint is needed to coat these units.
You can find out more about the dangerous impacts of using too much paint on our website.
The best part is, we never stop finding ways to improve our MLB Eco Bins. We’re continuously developing them so that we and our customers can keep doing their part for the environment.
