Racking Up Support: Wybone Donates Cycle Rack to Youth Options
17 December 2024
It’s always been our pleasure to lend a hand to those in need. One such gratifying moment came when we donated one of our BR/4 Quad Cycle Rack Stations to Youth Options, dedicated to improving young people’s lives across Hampshire.
The BR/4 Quad Cycle Rack Station is made of galvanised steel and can accommodate four bicycles. It can be bolted into concrete or installed using ground spikes. Strengthened with a durable powder-coated finish, the cycle rack provides a practical solution for promoting sustainable travel.Youth Options approached us while renovating their MP3 Youth Centre in Millbrook, Southampton. Once completed, this facility will host youth club sessions, a community café offering NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) young people real-world job experience, along with food hygiene and catering qualifications, and provide a space for the local community to come together. It will also support work placement sessions as a part of their youth employability programs.
Their services include high-quality youth work, targeted family support, outdoor learning, and programs designed to build skills and confidence. Last year alone, they reached over 7,000 young people across the region. As part of the refurbishment, plans include converting the sports hall into a youth space and creating a smaller, more welcoming activity room for projects run by Youth Options and other groups. These rooms will also be available for hire during the day and on weekends.
Additionally, a private room will be added for counselling, sexual health clinics, and other confidential conversations, ensuring young people in the area can access support that may have previously been out of reach due to life circumstances.
We’re proud to contribute to their inspiring efforts and help create a brighter future for young people in Hampshire.
