Bushboard chosen for washroom refurbishment at University College
20 November 2009
University College London, (UCL), has previously had a number of areas fitted with Bushboard Washrooms cubicles and Ready Plumbed Modules, (RPM).
Impressed with what had previously been installed, Gregg Higgs, UCL’s Maintenance Surveyor specified Bushboard Washrooms Quadro System and RPM with hinged lockable panels for easy access, for further areas within the University. He commented:“After seeing other washroom projects around the UCL site I decided to specify RPM for the Physics Building. The Bushboard RPM system has been a real success. The units were delivered pre-tested and ready to install making the washroom installation much faster than traditional timber frame and panelling systems. The units neatly conceal pipework resulting in a smart, professional and flush finish to the washroom areas.”
Bushboard Washroom Systems integrated plumbing system - RPM, are recognised as the leading pre-plumbed system available in todays market. RPM has been developed specifically to meet the construction industry demand for off-site pre-built engineered solutions and has a proven track record providing fast, cost effective and reliable washroom ducting that is fit for purpose and easy to maintain.
RPM incorporates factory built rigid aluminium frames that are pre-assembled with easy access panels and sanitaryware, including cisterns and plumbing. The complete module is then dry pressure tested prior to on site delivery to provide a fast, simple cost saving installation.
One of the key benefits of RPM is that the extruded aluminium frame has been specifically designed to incorporate hinged panels to meet the increasing demand for quick and easy access to essential services for routine maintenance. In addition, hinges make for easier manual handling and because panels are not completely removed to access pipework, any risk of damage due to water ingress from potentially wet floors is eliminated. Gregg Higgs commented further:
“Because we opted for hinged, lockable panels access to concealed pipework for routine maintenance is fast and easy. Panels don’t have to be completely removed and our staff have found this very convenient plus we had the added benefit of security with locks.”
Hinges are manufactured from robust, durable materials, a combination of injection moulded industrial nylon and extruded aluminium for solid grade panels and pressed steel for MFC and HPL. The option of lockable panels is ideal for where security is paramount.
“The support we received from Bushboard throughout the project has been second to none and I would have no hesitation specifying the RPM system on future projects,” Gregg concluded.
