Tormax provide secure access for sheltered housing
26 February 2010
Helping comply with current DDA requirements, Tormax UK Ltd has successfully automated over 30 entrances to sheltered housing facilities.
Tormax has automated over 30 entrances, designed and installed by Newton Security Doors Ltd, to sheltered housing facilities across the country in 2009. Working in partnership, the two companies deliver comprehensive access solutions that stand the test of time, to almost any location. Ideal for high density housing environments, Newtons' range of access security doorsets are manufactured for durability and minimum maintenance from either steel or aluminium and are fully compatible with all access control systems. In instances where residents require easy accessibility, the technologically advanced Tormax iMotion™ swing or sliding door operators have been installed, creating aesthetically attractive, secure and accessible entrances and internal door systems. Precision designed to consume minimum energy whilst maximising operational performance, iMotion™ is the result of committed research and development at the Tormax HQ in Switzerland.
Manufactured almost entirely using recyclable materials, iMotion™ represents a new generation of automatic operators and sets the standard for excellence across the industry. Delivering exceptional life-expectancy and making a significant contribution towards cost-effectiveness, iMotion™ high torque synchronous motors do not have any parts which can wear out and are entirely gear-less and brush-less. Minimising maintenance and down-time on the doors, the technology also incorporates a health and safety self-monitoring system which automatically makes necessary alterations in performance or signals an alert.
Home to many elderly residents, one Ayrshire sheltered housing complex now benefits from a powder-coated new steel (Portcullis Traditional range) automatic swing door entrance doorset installed by Newton Security and automated by Tormax™. In addition, the two companies have fitted 60 external entrances and 20 internal door operators to a range of premises in the Scottish area during 2009, including sheltered complexes, schools, business units, office entrances and social housing properties.
