The Solartron Metrology Orbit® Network
22 June 2023
High-Quality, High-Performance
As a result of rigorous testing and continuous work towards high-quality, high-performance sensors, Solartron Metrology’s industry leading Orbit® Digital Measurement Network was engineered to provide Digital, Modular solutions to connect up to 250 contact, as well as non-contact, measurement sensors, and output to a PC, PLC, or Readout with ease. With Orbit®, we provide a streamlined and flexible measurement process, allowing for rapid collection and display of data. Our rugged mechanical designs coupled with a high degree of electrical protection and excellent noise immunity ensure that valid accurate data is at hand at all times.
Measurement Solutions for Every Challenge
Our goal is to provide a vast range of solutions, which would yield accurate, precise, and repeatable results. Through decades of engineering and consistent investment, the Solartron Orbit® range offers applications for multiple industries, including automotive, electronics, aerospace, and many more.
Some of the measurement solutions available with Solartron are:
Full Profiling Solutions
Low Tip Force Solutions
Angle and Flatness Solutions
Harsh Environment and Temperature Solutions
Process Monitoring Solutions
Customised Metrology
For a modified solution, our measurement sensors can be customised with higher ingress protection, different tip shape and material, cable type, etc. For more details, refer to our catalogue, or contact one of our many globally situated sales offices run by our experienced teams to discuss specific measurement solutions that are right for you.
Easy Integration
We understand that integration of new sensors is oftentimes difficult due to incompatibility, and a lack of customisability, however the Orbit Network allows for 3rd Party sensors to be easily integrated to form a measurement system, such as combining LVDT type gauge probes with rotary encoders to allow profiling of components such as crankshafts.
Seamless Data Collection
Solartron’s sensors undergo rigorous testing to ensure a long and productive life, meanwhile the Orbit® Network brings about a streamlined experience through quick data collection, exportation, and analysis. Using The Orbit® Gauge Software 4.0 offers an advanced data collection experience when used in conjunction with our sensors.
The Orbit® Gauge Software 4.0 (OGS4) package is a highly customisable data collection and statistical analysis program which requires little to no training due to guided, intuitive graphical sequencing, meanwhile supporting manual, semi-automatic, and automatic gauges. It provides various features, such as Mastering, Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R), Data Visualisation, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), the ability to Output to Statistical Process Control (SPC), and more.
