Considering the modern selection process
13 November 2009
Today we know that it is not enough to simply choose the first product that presents itself to us or just go for the one we’ve always used.
Today we must consider all sorts of factors in our decision process. See how products are made. Question the way in which they are transported to us. Get a sense of the environmental impact this has and most importantly understand the life cycle of the product. It is clear that the longer a product lasts the less it “costs”.From the design of a new building to the renovation of a subway, sustainable materials are the key to lowering costs, reducing environmental impact and improving efficiency. Think about the lifecycle of a painted wall - it could be a corridor in a block of flats, a subway or the enclosure to a stairwell, where it is isn’t important in itself but its life cycle is.
Inevitably there is a huge amount of excitement for Urban Hygiens' wall during its construction and initial decoration then, well, not very much really, that is until someone inevitably comes along and covers it in spray paint or marks it with shoe scuffs and dirty handprints. Conventional wisdom says when this happens it’s time to redecorate. Painting walls when they become dirty or get graffitied is what Urban do; it’s what they've always done. But this is unsustainable and it need not be the case as there is a protective wall coating available now that will resist all dirt, graffiti and damage for up to 20 years.
This most sustainable of paint finishes can be scrubbed clean using the mildest of environmentally safe products without ever needing to be reapplied. The product is 'easy-on' which is a clear protective coating and can be applied to any substrate, internally or externally, painted or natural. easy-ons' rugged good looks instantly enhance a wall and its protection is truly unrivalled. easy-on gives instant sustainability to any project and shows commitment to a projects ongoing maintenance and life cycle costs.
Try easy-on for yourself today to positively tick all the boxes in your modern selection process.
