New draw wire encoder systems for demanding applications
The purpose of a draw-wire encoder is to convert linear movement into rotary movement by drawing the wire out and in from the draw-wire mechanism. This rotation is then converted into the corresponding electrical signal by an encoder or potentiometer connected to the mechanism.
The new high quality draw-wire systems from Kübler expand on their proven economical standard draw-wire systems with solutions for demanding applications from 250mm up to 40m measuring lengths. The construction is particularly robust and unaffected by environmental influences thanks to its titanium anodized aluminum housing.
The wire is made from stainless steel with a diameter of 0.5mm and is thus exceptionally hard wearing. The wire exit is free from wear thanks to a diamond polished ceramic guide. The wide temperature range of -20°C to +85°C as well as the optional IP67 protection rating allows use in the toughest environmental conditions. Some applications where this type of equipment may be used are injection moulding machines, printing machines, lifting platforms, heavy duty lifting frames, stage equipment etc.
