New Environ RAD Antioxidant Sunscreen Boosts Sun Safety

Environ, the skincare range developed by eminent South African plastic surgeon Dr. Des Fernandes is introducing new look RAD Antioxidant Sunscreen SPF15 in a larger,100ml size, nourishing the skin and providing vitamin enhanced protection that results in a fresh glow.
Antioxidant vitamins, used orally and topically, have been proven to enhance conventional sun protection by addressing the UV rays which get through even high level conventional UV-B and UV-A screens*. RAD also helps to prevent sunburn and to soothe and hydrate sunburnt skin because the vitamins cannot be removed by water and may be effective for many days after absorption. Environ’s original RAD was the first sun cream in the world to enhance protection by including a complex of potent free-radical scavenging vitamins C, E and beta-carotene together with conventional sunscreens and naturally reflective titanium dioxide. No wonder that fair skinned actress Naomi Watts counts RAD among her favourite Environ skincare products.
Environ training director at the International Institute for Anti-Ageing (iiaa) Tracy Tamaris says, “Contrary to popular belief, wearing a high SPF cream is not the ultimate sun protection solution. Studies show that people who wear higher SPFs put their skin at greater risk of damage by staying in the sun three times longer.
“There is also evidence that some sunscreen ingredients can trigger free radical damage once they have been absorbed unless they are frequently re-applied. Antioxidant vitamins significantly reduce the impact of free radicals that can damage DNA and lead to the destruction of collagen and elastin, prematurely aged skin, pigmentation and even skin cancer.”
